Helix, an outdoor garden kinetic sculpture, is built to move with the wind. It has two independent revolving spiral arms that use copper "leaves" to capture even gentle breezes. The arms move in opposite directions. Its movement is reminiscent of undulating seaweed as it takes on a very graceful motion in the wind. Helix is made entirely of brass, copper and stainless steel, all materials that will not rust. All joints are silver-brazed by hand for extraordinary strength. Close up and more details. Precision miniature stainless steel ball bearings are used at all pivot points for friction-free movement. Machined brass couplings and stainless screws are used at crucial joints for added strength and serviceability. Helix is designed and built to last a lifetime.
