Done in the art deco and federal style, this desk set uses some of the finest tiger maple veneer I've seen in over a decade. Sliced all from the same log over ten years ago, the leaves were carefully bookmatched with particular attention given to the sequenced match of the drawer fronts, desktop and chair back. The matching solid wood trim accents are cut from one piece of exceptional German curly sycamore. The legs, frames and contrasting trim elements are cut from solid quartersawn wenge. The chair is upholstered in top-quality Schumacher deco pattern fabric. The entire set is finished in a multi-coat clear hand-rubbed oil/polyurethane blend with a final top application of carnauba wax. |
